One of the most frequent questions about Jeju is which season or month is best time to visit Jeju. Because everyone's preferences are different, there's no single answer. Below are the pros and cons of each season to help you decide.


Spring (March to early Jun)

Flowers: Camellia over Winter to early April.

Canola flowers(Rapeseeds) from mid February to mid April.

Cherry blossom from end of March to early April.

Plum blossom(Ume flowers) from mid February to mid March.

Daffodils from mid February to early March.

Daphnes from mid February to early April in Gotjawal forest

Many other wildflowers in mid April to late May.

Weather: A short raining period often occurs in early April for about two weeks, though recent years have been unpredictable. Last year was quite dry. It can be chilly on cloudy windy days and warm in the sun. Bring a windproof jacket.


Summer (mid June to late September)

Flowers: Hydrangeas from mid June to mid July.

Crepe Myrtle flowers from late July to late September.

Oleander flowers from late July to late September.

Cannas from late July to late September.

Sunflowers from late July to late September

Weather: The rainy season usually begins in late June and may last into mid July, but patterns vary by area—Seogwipo can be rainy while Jeju City is sunny. Summer is hot and humid; include indoor activities in your plans. Swimming and snorkeling are best in this season.


Autumn (early October to mid November)

Flowers and foliage:  Spider lilies from late September to early October.

Camellia flowers from late October into winter.

Various grasses from late September to late December.

Autumn leaves peak from mid October to mid November.

Weather: Ideal for outdoor activities like cycling and hiking.


Winter (mid November to February)

Flowers and scenery: Camellia bloom in winter.

Silver grasses last until early January.

Daffodils appear in February.

Chinese holly berries are eye-catching.

Forests below 300meters above sea level stay green.

Weather: Daytime temperatures are around 5–15°C, but strong wind can make it feel much colder. Wear a windproof jacket, gloves, and ear protection.


Practical tips

Typhoons: Typhoons can approach Jeju in spring and autumn and usually affect the island for 2–3 days. Avoid scheduling an international flight from Jeju on your final day; allow an overnight buffer in Seoul.

Peak seasons: Late March to May and October to early November are busy. Book hotels and tours early to secure the best options.

Late November: Fewer crowds but windier and colder.

Peak summer holiday: Late July to early August is Korea’s main summer holiday period; beaches will be crowded.

Korean holidays: Long holidays like Chuseok and Lunar New Year affect travel demand. Check the calendar and book flights, hotels, and rental cars early.
